Gregg Popovich agrees to 'multi-year' extension with Spurs

Popovich, 65, has led Spurs to all five of their championships, the first of which came in 1999.

A statement from the team on Wednesday read: "The San Antonio Spurs today announced that head coach Gregg Popovich has agreed to a multi-year contract extension.

"Per club policy terms of the contract were not disclosed."

Popovich has an incredible record in the play-offs, with a 1,116-533 win-loss in a career that started in 1996.

He has led the Spurs to at least 50 wins in a season 16 times, including 15 in a row, and titles in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014.
