The deal however excludes two of Nokia's factories located in India and Korea.

An ongoing tax dispute between Nokia and Indian authorities means it would operate the Chennai factory for Microsoft as a contract manufacturing unit.

The company will also close its plant in Masan, Korea.

Some tweets posted by Nokia fans on Twitter show that not everybody is happy with the sale.
