Centre set to host video art workshop
German cultural centre, Goethe Institut in coperation with KfW Stiftung, Frankfurt and Centre of Contemporary Art (CCA), Lagos is set to host a video art workshop in Lagos.
The event is themed "Videonale in Lagos: Changing City- Shifting Spaces” and will be led by the internationally acclaimed Anglo-Ethiopian video artist Theo Eshetu in collaboration with artist/curator, Jude Anogwih.
It will hold from 13th through to 23rd January (excluding Sun, Jan 17) at Goethe-Institut Nigeria, Lagos Island.
While the opening of the exhibition will be on 30th January at Freedom Park, Kongi´s Harvest.
According to Goethe Institut, the event will provide the participants with discursive and applied tools for making eloquent connections between seemingly disparate art forms with video art.
In addition, the workshop participants will perform different research and artistic activities to approach the urban landscape of the city of Lagos.
In the end, a selection of realised woks from the workshop will be presented to the public as a part of the forthcoming exhibition, Videonale in Lagos.
