How university professor won N59M Naira from football bet

A University lecturer Professor Godwin Ighalo hit the jackpot after winning the approximate sum of N59m from a football bet.

Ighalo who is a Professor of Computer Engineering at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State won the bet which is now the biggest sum ever won in the history of sports batting in Nigeria with just the sum of N800 in 1960Bet.

Professor Ighalo placed bets on two different bet slips of N500 and N300 winning N36,840,971.25 and N22,104,582.75 with each bet respectiverly.

The lucky Professor Ighalo revealed that his love and interest for probability helped in in achieving the feat.

“Since my childhood days, I used to have strong interests in probability, relationships and special intelligence," he told Wednesday, August 26 after receiving his cheque at the head office of the 1960 bet.

"All these with adequate sports betting research I conducted over the years, helped in making it possible.”
