GLG Communications celebrates World PR Day with Soiree & PR Power List Awards

This event, designed to honour Nigerian communication professionals' tireless efforts, creativity, and innovation on World PR Day, was an evening of glamor, excitement, and well-deserved recognition, spotlighting those who make it all happen.

The event, anchored by renowned host and TV personality Hero Daniels, featured an immersive keynote by award-winning writer and director Biodun Stephen and a thought-provoking jury chat on "Decoding the DNA of a PR Power List Honoree." The discussion, led by GLG Communications Managing Partner Omawumi Ogbe and featuring jurors Babjide Benson (MD of CAST Public Relations) and Segun Mcmedal (President/CEO of Upticomm Marketing Company), provided insights into the qualities that define PR excellence to become a PR Power List honoree.

James Hewes, CEO of the PRCA, the world's largest and most influential PR professional body, delivered an inspiring keynote remark that gave a glimpse into the challenges and opportunities in today’s global PR landscape.

"It is truly humbling to not only celebrate the best of Nigerian PR but also host the global PR industry,” said Omawumi Ogbe, creator of the PR Power List and Managing Partner at GLG Communications. “This global celebration highlights the impact and significance of public relations in moving businesses forward and advancing society. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to the 2024 PR Power List honorees, recognising their outstanding contributions in categories ranging from Rising Voices to Community Impact and Changemakers. The Fourth Estate Awards were presented to Arise News (Television), The Punch (Print), and NairaMetrics (Digital) for exceptional journalism.

The soirée also marked the launch of Glazia magazine's special PR Power List issue, featuring the leading voices shaping global communications. The magazine is now available in print across Nigeria and the UK and digitally at glaziang.com/magazine from anywhere in the world.

The event concluded with a lively networking session and celebration at Club Kratos. The guest list included leading PR voices, career professionals, CEOs, business leaders, and members of the press. Esteemed brands such as The Guardian Nigeria, Booze.Ng, Azeez Amida Foundation, Dentsu Agyle, Nestle Nigeria, PRCA, World PR Day, Tiger Republic Films, and The Experience Plug System (TEPS) partnered with GLG Communications to make the event a resounding success.
