Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner allowed his players to celebrate their qualification for the UEFA Conference League semi-finals, despite a crucial Premier League clash against West Ham looming. The Eagles eliminated Fiorentina with a 4-2 aggregate score, and even after a 2-1 loss in the second leg in Florence, Glasner gave his squad the green light to savor the moment.

A video shared on social media showed Palace players singing and celebrating with fans in the streets of the Italian city. The Austrian tactician explained that he was repeating a gesture he made with his previous team, Eintracht Frankfurt, during their successful run to the Europa League trophy in 2022.

“The players asked me if they could go out tonight. It was the same thing the Frankfurt players asked me after they won the quarter-final. I agreed a few years ago that the players could go out, and I did the same tonight. The situation is identical, and I hope the end of the story will be the same too,” Oliver Glasner stated, as quoted by Sky Sports.

Crystal Palace currently sit 13th in the Premier League with 42 points, 12 clear of the relegation zone. Their upcoming opponents, West Ham, are 17th with 32 points but have shown improved form leading up to their visit to Selhurst Park.

Before his departure at the end of the season, Glasner will be aiming to win the Conference League trophy and secure the team's top-flight status.
