Girona Pulls Away from Relegation Zone

Girona secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Villarreal in the final match of La Liga's 30th round. An own goal from Pau Navarro just before halftime proved to be the decisive moment, earning the Catalan side three crucial points and lifting them to 12th in the standings. Villarreal, despite remaining third with 58 points, failed to capitalize on their closest rivals, Atletico Madrid's, slip-up.
