Hours after Olympiacos lifted the Greek championship trophy, Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos addressed the public via social media, asserting his belief that his team deserved a different outcome in the final series.

The owner of the Athenian club specifically addressed the injury woes and the circumstances under which, according to him, the team concluded their season.

Half the team is injured. Those who remain are playing with broken spirits due to everything they're enduring, and instead of being champions and already on vacation, they were forced to play under unequal conditions. Dimitris Giannakopoulos

The Panathinaikos boss believes that the championship finale exposed all the issues plaguing Greek basketball, adding that a significant portion of the public shares his view on who truly deserved the title.

In the end, we managed to open the eyes of even the blind. I, along with, in my opinion, the majority of the basketball public, believe that you deserved to be champions. Bravo!

To recap, Olympiacos triumphed in the final series (3-2) to claim the Greek championship title, having also won the EuroLeague, while Panathinaikos ended their season with only the national cup trophy.
