The Brazilian has not featured in a title decider since October 2012, when he lost to Andreas Seppi at the Kremlin Cup, while he last tasted glory at the Swiss Open three months earlier.

However, back on Swiss soil, Bellucci broke serve twice in the opening set, before snatching victory with a late break in the second.

"This is my favourite place to play, actually," said Bellucci. "The court condition for me, I like it. For my serve, it"s good as well. Maybe I feel very relaxed here."

Bellucci will now meet sixth seed Joao Sousa in the final - the Portuguese winning 6-3 2-6 6-4 against Federico Delbonis.

Sousa will contest his fourth ATP final, having won his maiden title in Kuala Lumpur in 2013.
