The workers, under the umbrella of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) commenced the industrial action on Monday, December 15.
The unions agreed to call off the strike after their National Executive Councils met with representatives of the Federal Government as regards addressing the issues raised.
Some of the complaints raised by the workers include the delay in the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and the non-maintenance of the country’s four refineries.
