Vinicius Junior has found himself at the centre of yet another controversy after being sent off in Real Madrid's clash with Villarreal for pulling an opponent's hair. According to Spanish football show El Chiringuito, the Brazilian forward lost his temper and pushed a La Liga official inside the Santiago Bernabeu tunnel, with footage allegedly capturing the altercation circulating on social media.
This latest development further complicates matters for the Los Blancos star, who is now virtually certain to be ruled out of the blockbuster El Clasico clash against Barcelona on October 25.
Journalist Marcos Benito reported on the show that a visibly furious and out-of-control Vinicius shoved a league representative on his way to the dressing rooms, emphasizing that stadium security footage confirms the incident.
Vinicius is already facing a mandatory minimum one-match ban for the straight red card. In addition, referee Isidro Diaz de Mera documented the Brazilian's misconduct in his official match report: "Mr. Vinicius Jose de Oliveira do Nascimento, after having been sent off and while still on the pitch, continued to protest my decision loudly and shouted while approaching me in an aggressive manner." This is likely to increase the forward's suspension, with El Clasico being Real Madrid's second upcoming fixture in La Liga.
