The doubles partnership between Portuguese tennis player Francisco Cabral and Britain's Joe Salisbury has come to an end after just two months. The decision was made by the former doubles world number one, who opted to rekindle his successful pairing with Rajeev Ram for the grass-court season.
The collaboration between Cabral and Salisbury, which began in late March at the Briton's invitation, failed to yield the anticipated results. In eight matches played, the Anglo-Portuguese duo managed only two victories, a record that fell short of expectations.
With this split, Francisco Cabral now faces the challenge of finding a new partner at a crucial point in the season. For now, it has been confirmed that the Portuguese player will compete at the ATP 250 Stuttgart alongside Croatian Nikola Mektic, himself a former ATP doubles world number one.
Meanwhile, Joe Salisbury returns to one of the circuit's most successful pairings, reuniting with Rajeev Ram. Together, they have claimed four Grand Slam titles and two ATP Finals championships.
