De'Aaron Fox has ignited a fresh wave of speculation regarding his future with the San Antonio Spurs after the guard unfollowed the team's official Instagram account shortly after their NBA Finals loss to the New York Knicks.
The information initially circulated among NBA fan accounts, which posted screenshots showing that the guard no longer followed the Spurs' profile.
While such social media activity isn't definitive proof of an impending trade, locker room tension, or a rift with management, the timing of the incident has inevitably raised questions about Fox's future in San Antonio.
The Spurs concluded their season in a disappointing fashion, falling 90-94 in Game 5 of the Finals series against the New York Knicks. This victory marked the Knicks' first NBA championship in 53 years, securing the title with a 4-1 series win.
