Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the racing team had already announced that Fern was "fighting a battle off-track" and that "the entire team stood behind him to support him." Unfortunately, it was to no avail, and Aston Martin announced on Wednesday that Biscuit had passed away. Fern joined the team in 2008, when it was still known as Force India.

'Loyal Force'

A statement from the racing team on social media read that 'Biscuit was a very loyal force and that everyone around him respected him.' "Everyone in our team and in the Formula 1 community will be thinking of him and his loved ones."

"Biscuit was always loyal and encouraging to everyone around him. He welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel at home in a world of constant travel. Biscuit worked in the paddock for 35 years and was respected by everyone who worked with him. We are all grateful for our time together and will greatly miss his humor and warmth."

Pedro de la Rosa, Aston Martin's team ambassador, had nothing but praise for Fern. "Biscuit, you will always be with us. You are a legend, a hero, and an example to us all. A big hug to all friends and family. RIP."
