Formula 1 driver Lando Norris was glued to the live broadcast of the final stage of Rally Sardinia on Sunday, eagerly following his close friend Oliver Solberg's fight for the world title.
Solberg crashed off the road just 200 metres from the finish line, cruelly losing his shot at the championship, with Norris joined by Carlos Sainz and Oscar Piastri. The trio watched the stage on Norris's phone aboard a private jet flying from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore.
Right after the conclusion of the World Rally Championship battle, which was won by Elfyn Evans, two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso shared a tribute on social media dedicated to Solberg, praising his fighting spirit and determination right to the very end.
