Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has launched a scathing attack on Erik ten Hag, accusing his former Old Trafford boss of poor dressing room management and constant clashes with players. While the Brazilian praised the Dutchman's tactical acumen, he insisted his player relations were a major problem.

"Ten Hag was very good tactically, but with the group, he was terrible. He fought with everyone. He argued with me, with Cristiano Ronaldo, with Casemiro, with Marcus Rashford. He didn't play me, and sometimes the situation got really tense," Fred revealed. He also accused his former manager of showing favoritism toward Dutch players: "Under Ten Hag, only his compatriots played. He created cliques. But tactically, he was one of the best coaches I have ever worked with."

Fred also addressed the fallout between Ten Hag and Ronaldo, who left Manchester United in November 2022 after a public feud with the manager. According to the Brazilian, tensions flared after the Portuguese superstar lost his place in the starting lineup. In contrast to Ten Hag, Fred praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his ability to unite the dressing room. "He was great at managing the group and bringing the team together," stated the midfielder, who left Old Trafford in 2023 and currently plays for Atletico Mineiro.
