Super Falcons boss nominated for FIFA Women’s Coach of the Year award

Omagbemi in December 2016 led the Super Falcons to their eighth .

The 2016 AWCON title was Nigeria's second consecutive AWCON win and their eighth since the maiden edition of the competition in 1998.

With that title, Omagbemibecame the first woman to win the AWCON as a player and a coach.

As a player, Omagbemiwon the AWCON on four occasions in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2000.

She began her coaching career with several American based youth teams, before being called up to be the assistant coach for the Nigeria women's national under-20 football team, Falconets.

The former Nigeria international will compete with nine other coaches to win the award which will be announced at the 2017 FIFA Best Awards.

Voting for the award starts on Monday, August 21.
