The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has announced that five DRS zones will be implemented for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

All five zones will be located within the first and third sectors of the Belgian circuit, which are characterized by long straights. The second sector, where the majority of the track's corners are concentrated, will not feature any DRS zones.

By introducing five DRS zones, the FIA aims to somewhat ease the challenge of energy management for drivers, which is anticipated to be a significant factor in the Ardennes. The only other circuit this season to feature as many DRS zones was Albert Park in Australia, where energy management also posed considerable difficulties for the drivers.
