Firefighters unable to rescue boy that sinked in river while fishing with siblings

A boy was reportedly submerged in a river before a motorcyclist came to rescue him. This was after some firefighters had tried. [The New York Times]

<strong>While fishing in a river with his sibling in Ekiti State, a boy reportedly drowned in the runnel because the firefighters that attempted to save him did not have the skill to do so.</strong>

The incident happened on Sunday, January 27, 2019, in the state capital Ado-Ekiti. He was confirmed dead after getting submerged in the watercourse for close to an hour before a motorcyclist came to pull him out.

Now on a dusty road, there is panic among observers as a man held the body of the boy who appeared deprived of life. Instablog9ja shared a video of the event on social media.
