President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the evening of Sunday, March 22 received the FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy, which is on a tour of all 24 nations that are taking part in the tourney.

President Jonathan was handed the trophy at a forum with Nigeria Young Professionals in Lagos by the Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick.

The trophy presentation was a surprise addition to the programme of the forum with Nigeria’s Young Professionals which held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Super Falcons players joined President Jonathan on stage to take photos with the trophy which will be presented to the winners of the FIFA Women's World Cup holding in Canada between June 6 and July 5, 2015.

Ex internationals who graced the event include; Austin Jay Jay Okocha (undefined), Peter Rufai, Waidi Akanni, and several others.

USA-based Blessing Okagbare spoke on Skype to show her solidarity with the Jonathan project

The African champions drawn with USA, Sweden and Australia in Group D at the finals.
