Concerns have been raised about the new engines, aerodynamics and regulations introduced by the governing body for the 2014 season.

Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemelo, for instance, has suggested the alterations have taken the excitement away from F1.

However, Todt is adamant the sport remains healthy and claims to always be available to discuss any further tweaks.

"We live in a great democracy, anyone can request a meeting," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'm open to suggestions that might improve things.

"I'm going to the sponsors, media, new media, organisers, drivers of today and yesteryear and the designed to bring to the table all the most interesting ideas."

Todt went on to admit that more could have been done to explain this year's changes to the teams, but he is convinced F1 is thriving.

"It was the right way to go," he added. "But we were not able to communicate it well.

"But the future of Formula One is (heading) in the right direction.

"To my mind F1 is in good health. Yes (TV audiences are down) but today, in addition to TV, there are other means of communication.

"I do not see it (boring races), and especially do not see anyone during the grand prix lift to save fuel. In racing there has always been the search for maximum efficiency."
