Ten years later, FC Porto has once again claimed the national basketball championship. Following their 75-71 victory against Benfica in Game 4 of the playoff finals, Fernando Sá couldn't hide his emotion at bringing the trophy back to the Dragão Arena.

A national champion as both a player and now a coach, Sá admitted that this moment holds special significance, occurring at "the club of his heart."

"Everyone knows what I'm feeling; Porto fans feel the same way I do. To be a champion with the club of my heart... Everyone understands what's happening, and I'm thrilled about all of this," he stated.

Fernando Sá revealed, however, that this success came at the end of a particularly demanding season, marked by inconsistent results and periods of intense pressure.

"It was incredibly difficult. There were moments of natural solitude due to less positive results, and I decided to isolate myself and the group. I instilled in them that we were here to fight until the end and that we were prepared to withstand anything," he explained.

"This is thanks to this group, the board, other departments, and our fans. If we hadn't been united, we wouldn't have achieved this. My coaching staff was also excellent," he added.

Fernando Sá also dedicated a special word to the Porto supporters, considering that the championship belongs equally to those who backed the team throughout the season.

"This title is as much theirs as it is ours. When you lose at this club and feel the way we felt, it's terrible to overcome, but when you win like this, with all these people, it's wonderful," he concluded.

With their 75-71 triumph at the Dragão Arena, FC Porto sealed the final against Benfica 3-1, reclaiming the national basketball championship, a title that had eluded the club since 2016.
