Video of house cat in showdown with lion goes viral

Tom Mabe, 'a clean, corporate comedian and prankster', as he likes to describe himself, posted the video online Sunday of a friend's cat peering out the window while a large mountain lion pawed repeatedly at the glass. Another cat sat nearby watching.

Mabe, who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, said he took the video about a month ago while visiting friends at their home 10 miles west of Boulder. He can be heard joking in the background with his wife that their kids were playing outside with the mountain lion nearby.

In an email, Mabe said the mountain lion eventually went away on its own. He wouldn't reveal the exact location of the encounter because he said his friends are trying to sell their home.

The domestic cat would probably be glad there was a glass in between them as it wouldn't stand a chance with the purs of the big cat.
