Leeds manager Daniel Farke had every reason to celebrate after his side secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. This win was invaluable for the Yorkshire club in their fight for Premier League survival, and Farke believes his team is on the right track.

“Right now, I’m tired, relieved, but also incredibly proud of the lads. It was a fantastic performance. We’re in a decisive phase of the season, and it’s vital to keep your composure and stick to your plan.”

“I thought the first half was fantastic; we should have been leading by more than 2-0, we missed so many chances. We started the second half well. Sometimes a red card can change things, but I didn't feel that at all. We were a bit sleepy on one set-piece situation. Of course, this is still Manchester United – it’s tough to close out a game against them as a newly promoted side,” Farke stated.

With this success, Leeds ended a 45-year wait for a league victory at Old Trafford.

“I think this is the first time in Premier League history, our first win here in forty years. It’s incredible and, of course, a huge step forward,” the German tactician added.

Furthermore, the Yorkshire side broke their streak of four consecutive league matches without scoring a goal.

“I’m very happy for the boys. Goals are always important for momentum in a game. This is a sign of why we should be in a much better position given our performances. We could have been much more clinical with our chances. On the other side, you have a team full of world-class players who can bring quality off the bench later in the game. If you don’t ‘kill’ the game, anything can always happen, especially for the home team. We need to stay humble. We are not perfect. We are not a finished product. We are on the right path to achieving something truly positive this season,” the German concluded.
