Benfica's central defender, António Silva, is set to travel to England this Friday to embark on a new challenge in the Premier League with Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old Portuguese player bids farewell to Benfica and the Estádio da Luz after a decade with the Eagles, having progressed through their youth ranks and made his senior debut in the 2022/23 season under German coach Roger Schmidt.
António Silva failed to reach an agreement with Benfica regarding a contract renewal and will now join Bournemouth, a move that could net the Lisbon club up to €25 million.
This Thursday, at the Luz, António Silva is expected to bid farewell to the 'Encarnados' faithful, likely wearing the captain's armband. His flight to England is scheduled for the following day.
