Famalicão edged past third-tier outfit Marco 09 with a 1-0 victory on Saturday morning in a training match held at the club's academy in Vila Nova.
With several first-team players away on international duty, Carlos Carvalhal used the exhibition match to take a closer look at squad members with fewer competitive minutes, as well as under-23 forward Jonas Ferreira. The contest's solitary goal was netted by Sorriso during the first half.
The Brazilian winger maintains his hot streak in front of goal after bagging a brace in Famalicão's 4-0 thrashing of Nacional in their last competitive outing, where Georgios Koutsias scored the other two. Now in his fourth season with the Minho outfit, Sorriso has tallied 17 goals and 11 assists across 87 appearances for the club.
Famalicão continue their preparations for the return of league football, with Carvalhal's men scheduled to host Alverca on matchday eight on October 12 at 20:15. The Vila Nova side will be targeting back-to-back league wins after picking up their first victory of the campaign in Madeira.
