The Nigeria Football Federation has re-appointed Peter Dedevbo as Head Coach of the U-20 Women National Team, Falconets.
According to the NFF website, President Amaju Pinnick approved the re-appointment on Tuesday, June 17 and chairman of the Technical and Development Committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, disclosed that Dedevbo and his crew were retained following the exploits of the Falconets at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
“The Peter Dedevbo-led crew did well to get the Falconets to the final of the U-20 World Cup in Canada last year. Most of his players have been snapped up by the senior team, which shows that he built a good team," Anyansi-Agwu told NFF website.
“We will give the crew all the support that is necessary to qualify the Falconets for the 2016 U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea, and for the team to go there and win the trophy.”
Under Dedevbo, the Falconets last year came second in the FIFA World Cup in Canada, losing 1-0 to Germany in the final.
He has also coached the U-17 Women National Team, Flamingos, taking the team to the quarter final stage at the World Cup finals in Trinidad and Tobago (2010) and Azerbaijan (2012).
