Even Giannis’ Monster Triple-Double Can’t End Miami’s Nightmare: Antetokounmpo Left on an Island as Mavs Mount Fourth-Quarter Comeback /VIDEO/

A masterclass and a triple-double from Giannis Antetokounmpo were not enough to save the Miami Heat from another bitter disappointment, dropping to 0-4 on the season after a 113-109 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Giannis racked up 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists, carrying a massive load right from the opening tip. Miami could have used a vintage performance from Bam Adebayo, but the center looked completely out of sorts, offering just eight points in support of his fired-up teammate.

Adebayo's early misses clearly rattled his confidence, leading to a passive offensive display that proved costly in crunch time.

Although the Heat eventually found their groove to take the lead following a turbulent first quarter and a brief slump around halftime, they collapsed down the stretch when the game was on the line.

Dallas took control in the fourth quarter, maintaining a six-point cushion through the closing stages as Miami ran out of answers, allowing the Mavericks to secure their second win of the season and improve to 2-2.

Beyond Antetokounmpo, Davion Mitchell stood out for the winless Heat (0-4) with 21 points. Serbian forward Nikola Jović did not see any floor time in this matchup.

For Dallas, Cooper Flagg spearheaded the offense with 29 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds. P.J. Washington added 20 points and nine boards, while Kyrie Irving chipped in with 18 points and six rebounds.
