Celta Vigo and Real Betis played out a goalless draw in their La Liga Matchday 10 clash. The stalemate keeps Los Verdiblancos inside the top four, while the hosts remain further down the table.
The encounter capped off a demanding week for both sides following midweek victories in European competition. Celta claimed a 2-1 win over Celtic in Scotland on Thursday night, while Betis edged Feyenoord 1-0 at home in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The toll of those continental exertions was clear to see on Sunday afternoon, as neither team managed to find a way through.
Betis forward Nelson Deossa struck the woodwork in the 53rd minute, before both sides squandered golden opportunities late on through Iago Aspas for the hosts and Troy Parrott for the visitors.
Both Celta and Betis will switch their focus to Copa del Rey action in the coming week.
