Luis Enrique spoke after Paris Saint-Germain's 3-1 victory over Toulouse in the opening match of the 28th round of France's Ligue 1, a result that extended the champions' lead at the top of the table to four points over second-placed Lens.
"I'm very happy. We knew how crucial these three points were, especially coming right after the international break. It was tough to manage, as so many players involved in the match had traveled and played last week. It was the perfect moment to secure a win. We played on Friday, which made the task even harder as we had one less day of rest. However, the team demonstrated its ability to cope, and now it's time to enjoy the weekend and get some rest, both for the players and the squad," Enrique stated at the post-match press conference.
He also made a humorous remark about Gonçalo Ramos's performance, who scored the late goal that sealed the final score.
"Gonçalo Ramos played five minutes and scored. He's constantly fighting. It's incredible. What I'm doing with him is unfair, but he keeps proving me wrong," Enrique added.
This marked Paris Saint-Germain's fourth consecutive victory across all competitions, with their next two fixtures being of paramount importance. They will have a break from Ligue 1 next weekend as they prepare for two crucial Champions League clashes against English champions Liverpool on April 8th and 14th. PSG eliminated Liverpool last season on their path to European glory.
