Uzoenyi had an injury-plagued stint with reigning South African Premier Division (PSL) champions Bidvest Wits which he joined in January 2017.

The forward is in line to make his debut for his new club in their league opening trip to his former club Bidvest Wits.

Ajax Cape Town is Uzoenyi’s third South African club after playing for Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits.

Uzoenyi kicked off his career with Enyimba before moving to Enugu Rangers.

Loan stints to French club Rennes did not materialise into a permanent stay before he secured a move to Mamelodi Sundowns.

He didn’t quite settle at Sundowns and after another loan move back to Enugu Rangers, the forward joined Bidvest Wits in January 2017.

Injuries prevented him from having an impact at Bits although he won the 2017 PSL title with them.

Uzoenyi has several caps for the Super Eagles, making the squad to the .

He also represented Super Eagles Team B at the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa where he impressed and was named the Player of the Tournament.
