A World Health Organization (WHO) official has said that there could be up to 10,000 new cases of Ebola per week within two months if efforts to curb the disease are not intensified.

Assistant Director-General of the body, Dr. Bruce Aylward has predicted that 'a lot more people will die' if cases of the disease are allowed to continue spiralling out of control.
Aylward added that for the past one month, there have been about 1,000 new cases recorded per week.
The WHO also revealed that the death toll of the current Ebola outbreak, which is the worst ever recorded, has reached 4,447.
