Dutch Football Star (25) Flooded with Reactions to Viral Love Story: 'Absolutely Fantastic'
Casparij has been in a relationship with Britain's Brown for years. The two met through Tinder and decided to share their love story globally through a campaign with the platform. This idea eventually blossomed into an international campaign for the dating app. "We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback," Casparij told Sportnieuws.nl when asked.
Viral Love Story
Casparij and Brown hadn't anticipated their story reaching such a wide audience. Nevertheless, they look back on the project with fondness. "It was incredibly fun to do, and we received so many lovely reactions from both fans and fellow players," Casparij explained.
The Dutch international is known for regularly speaking out and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. According to the defender, this aligns with who she is. "I love connecting with people and I'm outspoken. It's also just great that our story is recognized, and we were absolutely thrilled with the end result."
Reactions from Around the World
Many people shared their own stories after seeing Casparij and Brown's campaign. What resonated with her the most? "I think it's primarily the stories from people who let us know they feel inspired. You see so many beautiful stories emerge. That, of course, is precisely why we wanted to do this."
Moreover, the campaign didn't just resonate with fans. "We also heard from players at other clubs who thought it was really cool and great. That makes the campaign truly special," Casparij continued.
Huge Social Media Reach
Casparij's partner is particularly popular on social media. She now has over 15,000 followers on Instagram, while Casparij boasts more than 100,000 followers. Yet, the 'Orange Lioness' feels no pressure to use this platform for social statements. "I genuinely do it purely because I enjoy it. I also like the connection. It's also a bit of my way of being creative," she concluded with a laugh.
