Dr. Pimple Popper Tackles a Lipoma AND a Pilar Cyst in Her Latest Instagram Videos
In the first video, the dermatologist and TLC star (real name Dr. Sandra Lee) tackles a lipoma, a benign fatty lump that grows between the skin and muscle. They tend to grow in patients between 40 and 60 years old, according to the Mayo Clinic .
If you're a connoisseur of Dr. Pimple Popper's content, you know that some of her lipoma extractions require quite a bit of work ( like this one , which involved a pair of scissors). Lee's latest lipoma pops right out with comparative ease, although granted, it's not nearly as big as some of the other ones she's treated .
In the second video, Lee removes a pilar cyst located near a patient's hairline. A pilar cyst-for those who missed this three-for-one pilar cyst video -is a lump that grows around a hair follicle, often on top of the head. This type of cyst is pretty uncommon, affecting 5 to 10 percent of the population, according to Medical News Today .
As Lee performs the extraction, she and a colleague remark that what comes out of the pilar cyst looks like a water chestnut or a macadamia nut, which makes me want to either neither food ever again. Thanks, you guys.
