The reprisal attack which was captured in a video, according to those who posted it online, happened in a rural village in the Jaipur district, when the girl was in a field attending to some chores.

The alleged rapist had jumped on her and tried to forcefully have sex with her but met a surprise when the girl turned on him and beat the living daylight out of him.

Later, some other men who heard the commotion, went to the field to find out what happened and joined in beating the rapist.

The crime of rape has been rampant in India, despite the government and the international community doing everything it can to stop it.

In 2015, a 14-year-old girl died after she was gang-raped by some men in a moving bus and after they were done, they threw her out of the vehicle.
