DJ Babus talks with Pulse on evolution of House music sound in Nigeria.
The DJ is of the opinion that the genre is getting increasingly accepted and has been validated by one of the greatest DJs to come out of Africa, in person of South African DJ/producer Black Coffee.
Though predominantly a House DJ, Babus believes there definitely cannot be one unifying sound in the world.
“ I am 100% sure there can never be a time when the world listens to one type of music, it’s not possible men,” the DJ affirms, explaining that a genre such as Hip-Hop alone has different styles emanating from it such as Trap, West Coast and East Coast rap style as observed in the USA, adding that House music itself has about 25 different styles.
The DJ also talks about his collaboration project mixtape with Pulse, explaining the concept behind the mixtape, saying it’s House music with a local blend describing it as soulful Afro-House , the type you can listen to in your car.
