Australia's Warner hits out at New Zealand fan abuse

David Warner has hit out at the "derogatory and vulgar" abuse Australia suffered from New Zealand fans, saying the taunts overstepped the mark.

Australia wrapped up a 2-0 series whitewash in the second Test with a seven-wicket battering of the Black Caps in Christchurch.

While the spirit of the match has been praised by both camps, Warner has been left disappointed with the actions of some people in the stands.

"Some of the stuff was pretty derogatory and vulgar," Australia's vice-captain said.

"You get your odd banter here or there, but when they're talking about people's families, it takes it a little bit too far.

"We don't expect to wake up and be hounded for six or seven hours.

"The upsetting thing was I know if my two daughters were in the crowd, I wouldn't want them listening to that kind of stuff."
