Barcelona and Spain midfielder Dani Olmo has expressed his gratitude to Dinamo Zagreb, the club where he made his first major strides in professional football. Spain take on Croatia in a Nations League clash at the Poljud Stadium in Split, making it a particularly emotional occasion for Olmo.
He reflected on what motivated him to take such a bold step at an early age and what his time in the Croatian capital gave him:
"Everyone has their own story and their own reasons for the decisions they make. What drove my decision was Dinamo's desire to help my development. They genuinely believed I could become the player I am today," Olmo said.
"I trusted them completely, even though I was only 16. My mother and I ended up in a completely unfamiliar country... It was challenging, but also a wonderful time. I share a special bond with the club and I think that shows. I'm delighted to be back in Croatia, and this match will be truly special for me," added the Spain international.
