Dallas Mavericks Narrow Head Coach Search to Five Candidates

The Dallas Mavericks are continuing their search for a new head coach following the departure of Jason Kidd. According to journalist Marc Stein, the shortlist of candidates includes five specialists.

Among the names being considered are Micah Nori from Minnesota, Royal Ivey from Houston, Jama Mahlalela from Toronto, and Tony Dobbins from Boston. They are joined by the experienced Terry Stotts, a former head coach for Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Portland.

Stein also noted that Dallas' initial interest in Michigan head coach Dusty May and Duke's Jon Scheyer did not progress beyond preliminary discussions.
