"I wasn't surprised," Curry stated.

"I think there's a reason why the investigation took so long, and why Steve Ballmer, whom I've met and who's a great guy, accepted the penalty. So, there's a reason why everything unfolded this way. Ultimately, Adam Silver had to do his job, and I think the punishment makes sense. Now, we all move on."

Following a year-long investigation conducted by the law firm Wachtell Lipton, the NBA handed down the most severe penalty in league history to the Los Angeles Clippers, after determining the team was guilty of violating salary cap rules.

For offering illegal and undisclosed contracts to Kawhi Leonard, the California franchise was forced to forfeit five consecutive first-round draft picks from 2029 to 2033, pay a $30 million fine, and undergo a stringent five-year monitoring and compliance program under NBA oversight.

Team owner Steve Ballmer received a one-year suspension from all league and team activities, President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker was given a one-year suspension without pay, and President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank was suspended for six months without pay.

The Clippers vehemently rejected the NBA's decision, announcing their immediate intent to pursue all legal avenues to overturn the penalty. However, after two weeks of strong resistance, Ballmer ultimately accepted his and his franchise's fate in an official statement.
