Crushing defeat proves the final straw: Former Mallorca boss Arrasate returns to Osasuna

Osasuna currently sit 16th in La Liga after eight matches, having gone winless in their last five outings. Arrasate previously managed Osasuna between 2018 and 2024 before taking charge of RCD Mallorca, where he was dismissed in February. During his time in the Balearic Islands, he also coached Slovak duo Dominik Greif and Martin Valjent.

"The coach with the second-most games in club history returns home to lead a new project," Osasuna said in a club statement quoted by AFP.

Arrasate has penned a deal running through June 2029 and will make his return to the Osasuna dugout on Sunday against newly-promoted Racing Santander.
