La Liga: Chukwueze destroys Marcelo in Villarreal's goalless affair with Real Madrid
Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was the tormentor in chief as Villarreal held La Liga leaders Real Madrid to a goalless affair at the Estadio De La Ceramica.
Chukwueze lasted 73 minutes in the end to end encounter, with Marcelo the most tormented player on the pitch by the Nigerian.
The 22-year-old completed the most dribbles on the pitch, six, and had the Brazilian on toast all evening.
As early as the fifth minute, Chukwueze almost opened the scoring for the hosts when he eased past Marcelo and his teammate David Alaba.
However, despite finding his way in a very good position with the goalkeeper at his mercy, he shot straight at Thibaut Courtois, who saved easily.
It was his first game for the Yellow Submarine since he left to join the Super Eagles in AFCON2021, Chukwueze put in a good shift as Villarreal shared the spoils with Real.
Chukwueze, who featured in all of Nigeria's AFCON2021 matches in Cameroon, scoring one goal, has scored two goals and assisted another in 13 La Liga appearances for Villarreal this season.
