Christians in Egypt have been facing major religion intolerance and discrimination, thanks to the mainly Muslim population.

In May, 2016, Christian houses were burnt by a 300-strong mob, while a 70-year-old woman was dragged naked along the street, Christian Today reports.

Other cases include the attack of a priest in July, 2016, the alleged abductions of Christians and the destruction of numerous church buildings.

Thankfully, an Egyptian Christian teacher has found a way to fight this tension.

According to The Independent, the tutor, named Ayaad, from a village in northern Egypt, is attempting to tackle the problem by teaching with both the Bible and Qu'ran.

Speaking with BBC Arabic, he says he believes "we are all one", and that he has been doing it for over 50 years.

"I have more than 120 children in my class: 70 to 80 Muslims, and 30 to 40 Christians. We have been living here in love. I get paid about a dollar, but I'd rather be paid a dollar with love than $100 with anger.

The school teachers and families approve. I used to teach them all years ago with no objection.

Sectarian tension is an evil thing that's popped up. We never used to label each other Muslim or Christian. We are all one and there is no difference", he added.

I think this is a great idea. Don't you agree?
