Cherki's Gaffe: Wears Liverpool Jersey on City Bench During Match! (Pics)

Manchester City emphatically defeated Liverpool 4-0 today (April 4th) in the FA Cup, securing their place in the semi-finals.

While the "Citizens" were dominant on the pitch, off it, Ryan Cherki was at the center of a rare incident. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder was substituted in the 71st minute. As he headed towards the bench, he exchanged jerseys with his compatriot, Hugo Ekitike of the "Reds," who had also just been substituted.

This was understandable, as both are French and have been teammates across all national youth teams, being of similar age.

However, instead of holding onto the jersey or handing it to someone to take to the "Citizens'" locker room, Cherki sat on the bench and put it on!

Members of the City delegation immediately gestured for him to take it off. Meanwhile, on social media, Liverpool fans were giving Ekitike a hard time for exchanging jerseys during the match, especially with his team losing by such a significant margin!
