Carrick: The Victory Was Deserved

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick expressed his satisfaction after his side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Red Devils' triumph was far from easy, as the Londoners relentlessly attacked Seny Lammens' goal, missing numerous chances and hitting the woodwork multiple times. Despite the onslaught, the visitors left with all three points, a result Carrick believes was fully deserved.

“We feel the win was deserved. Given the difficulties we’ve faced in recent days and the partnership in central defense, we knew it would be a challenge, but I believe our defense was exceptional under these tough circumstances,” Carrick stated.

“We looked dangerous on the counter-attack. To come here and win, we had to be disciplined. The lads’ attitude tonight was top-class, and we are extremely pleased with the victory,” the manager added.

“I think we were particularly good in midfield. They have truly class players, and you can’t afford to switch off even for a moment,” the Englishman further commented.

This success could prove crucial for the Red Devils' Champions League qualification hopes.

“There’s a points difference to the places outside the Champions League spots. It’s not so much about that as it is about enjoying the win. It’s always tough to play here; we’ve struggled over the years, so these moments at the end of the game are what you want to remember. We won’t get carried away, but we will enjoy the result tonight,” Carrick concluded.
