Carrick arrives at Carrington amid growing uncertainty over Manchester United future
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick, whose future currently hangs in the balance, has arrived at the club's Carrington training ground. According to reports in the English media, the official reason for his visit is to attend a behind-closed-doors Under-21 friendly against Hull City, a routine duty as part of his managerial responsibilities.
Chief executive Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox arrived at the complex early this morning. Club captain Bruno Fernandes was also on site alongside injured players such as Patrick Dorgu and Manuel Ugarte, who are continuing their rehabilitation programmes. The remainder of the squad have been granted a scheduled day off.
Carrick held brief talks with Berrada and Wilcox following yesterday's defeat against Bournemouth. It remains uncertain whether the trio will hold further discussions today, or if club chiefs will instead focus on reaching an agreement with his agent over a potential compensation package ahead of what appears to be an inevitable dismissal.
