Liverpool are reportedly trying to convince Carlo Ancelotti to take over the side next season.

Ancelotti was just recently relieved of his job at Real Madrid but even though he said he will be taking some time off the game due to some health concerns, Liverpool are trying to convince the Italian to take over from Brendan Rodgers.

Napoli manager, Rafa Benitez was to be wanted by Liverpool, but he Spaniard has become favourite to replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid.

Ancelotti led Real Madrid to their tenth UEFA Champions League title in his first season at the club and also won the Copa del Rey.

Ancelotti is a highly rated manager in world football and will not be short of offers.

He is also reportedly in the frame to return to AC Milan where he won two UEFA Champions League titles as a manager in 2003 and 2007.
