President condoles families of Nigerian victims of crane collapse in Mecca

He urged Nigerians to join him in praying for the quick and full recovery of their compatriots who were injured in the unfortunate incident.

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended heartfelt condolences to the families, relations and friends of the Nigerian victims of the Friday’s crane accident in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which claimed several lives.

This is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Mallam Garba Shehu the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

The statement said the president, similarly, commiserated with the governments and people of Kaduna, Katsina and Gombe States from where pilgrims who lost their lives hailed.

President Buhari also prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the souls of the departed Nigerians who died a glorious death in the service of God.

The Saudi Arabia authorities had on Saturday confirmed that 107 people died from the crane accident which occurred at the Grand Mosque (Kaaba) in Mecca.
