Bucs sign Louis Murphy to a three-year extension

The receiver was recently placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, but he was a solid contributor to the team.

Murphy caught 31 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games this season. His best came in Week 12 when he finished with 113 yards. He also played a big role in the Bucs' upset over the Steelers in Week 4 when he finished with 99 yards.

Murphy has been playing behind Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Mike Evans and veteran Vincent Jackson. His speed makes him a dangerous weapon.

His role in the offense could improve. Jackson's future with the team is in question heading into the offseason. During the NFL's trade deadline there were multiple rumors involving Jackson's name.
