This Friday, EA Sports unveiled its Premier League Team of the Season, with the Portuguese international taking center stage. Fernandes boasts 8 goals and 18 assists in 30 league appearances, and with five matchdays remaining, he's on track to break the record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne (20 assists).

In FC 26, Bruno Fernandes is thus rated as the Premier League's top player, with an overall rating of 97. Close behind are Manchester City's Erling Haaland and an Arsenal duo, Declan Rice and Gabriel, all three with a rating of 96.

Saliba (95), Cucurella (93), and Timber (93) complete the defense, with Donnarumma (95) in goal. Szoboszlai (94) joins the midfield, while another City pair, Semenyo (94) and Cherki (93), lead the attack. Other notable mentions include Ekitiké (93), Garner (90), Hall (90), Van Dijk (95), Enzo Fernández (93), Raya (93), Bruno Guimarães (92), João Pedro (92), Igor Thiago (92), Reece James (91), and Granit Xhaka (91).

«It's a huge privilege...»

For Wayne Rooney, who interviewed Bruno Fernandes on his BBC podcast The Wayne Rooney Show, there's no doubt who deserves the award, which Rooney himself has won. "We're getting towards the end of the season. The Player of the Year award is coming up, and I think you're going to win it. I think you should win it," the Englishman stated.

The Portuguese star expressed gratitude for the praise but noted that the Premier League winner typically claims the trophy. "Obviously, it's a huge privilege to be in the conversation. As a player, you always say you want collective trophies, and that's true, but these individual awards are always good for you. I'm aware that players who win the league are closer to receiving it. If I win it, it would be unbelievable because I've never done it before," the former Sporting player affirmed.
